Dan Bailey, b. 1952

Instructor at Penland: 1983-85

While a Penland Resident Artist in the early 1980s, Dan Bailey captured the essence of Penland's dining hall at night. While Bailey used time lapse photography, a collaborator walked in circles with a light source around the dining hall. Bailey currently works primarily in film and digital media, and is the Director of the Imaging Research Center at the University of Maryland, Baltimore.
