Former Penland Resident Artists, Valerie and Rick Beck work collaboratively creating hand-blown glass vessels and sculpture that often combine glass with playfully expressive use of paint. Rick also works independently on cast glass sculpture. They live near and teach at Penland and the Appalachian Center for Crafts.
