Penland School of Crafts is a national center for craft education located in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina. Penland offers one-, two-, and eight-week workshops in books & paper, clay, drawing, glass, iron, metals, photography, printmaking, textiles, and wood. The school also sponsors artists' residencies, educational outreach programs, and a craft gallery open to the public.

Functional and sculptural work in books, clay, drawing, glass, iron, metals, painting, papermaking, photography, printmaking, textiles, and wood on sale in shop by Penland instructors, residents artists, students, and neighbors. Exhibition gallery changes every two months.

Open early March through mid-December
Tuesday-Saturday: 10 am - 5 pm (Closed Mondays)

Tour the campus. Visit resident artist's studios. Shop in the gallery and school supply store. Have lunch or a snack the scenic and delicious coffee shop / café. Get a map to near-by artist's studios. (Note: teaching studios are not open to the public to protect the focused atmosphere of the classes.)
