Want to explore the Mint Museum with friends, family or colleagues? What better way to experience the museum than through a guided tour. Captivating and entertaining tour experiences will keep you engaged as you learn about art from around the world.
Groups may also explore the museum independently. Self-Guided groups of 10 or more must schedule a tour. Leaders of self-guided groups may lecture in the galleries, but please note that museum-guided tours have priority over the spaces.

IMMERSED IN LIGHT: STUDIO DRIFT AT THE MINT
Studio Drift creates breathtaking sculptures that explore the relationship between humanity, nature and technology. This exhibition features five works by Studio Drift dating from the last decade to today, most of which have been modified for the Mint.

CLASSIC BLACK: THE BASALT SCULPTURE OF WEDGWOOD AND HIS CONTEMPORARIES
Featuring more than 100 ceramic objects this exhibition is the first to focus exclusively on the black basalt sculpture made by Josiah Wedgwood and other Staffordshire potters in late eighteenth-century England.

Art of Reading Tours

Bring your book club to the Mint’s Art of Reading Tours. Book clubs who are reading Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen, The Invention of Wings by Sue Monk Kidd, The Lacuna by Barbara Kingsolver, or A Single Shard by Linda Sue Park can visit the museum for a discussion and tour to bring to life historic events, social customs, and lifestyles depicted in the books.
Beginning Spring 2019: Art of Reading will offer a tour for The Warmth of Other Suns by Isabel Wilkerson at Mint Museum Uptown.

Art of Reading tours must have no less than 3 participants.

Art of Dining Tours

Ever wonder why tea leaves were once kept in locked caddies? Or why a citrus on the table indicated wealth? Your group can learn these answers and more in a 60-minute Art of Dining tour at Mint Museum Randolph.
This tour takes visitors through the Portals to the Past galleries, the museum’s noted collection of late 17th through early 19th century ceramics. Tour guides will ‘set the table’ for conversations about the design, production and use of selected pieces.

Taste of the Mint

Culinary arts blend with Mint Museum Uptown for an appetizing cultural experience. Explore a one-hour food tasting tour with small plate and drink pairings at remarkable restaurants near the Mint Halcyon, Flavors from the Earth and other culinary partners offer different food and drink experiences sure to tempt taste buds.
Afterward, unwind with a one-hour exploration of the arts led by a Mint expert who will provide insight into the American, Contemporary, and Craft + Design collections along with special limited-engagement exhibitions. This exploration can take the form of a tour or a sketching lesson in the galleries.

Visit All Three Museums at Levine Center for the Arts
Experience an expert-led tour that takes you to all three museums at Levine Center for the Arts: The Bechtler Museum of Modern Art; Harvey B. Gantt Center for African-American Arts + Culture; and Mint Museum Uptown. These tours are open FREE to all Sustainer, Benefactor, and Crown Society members of the Mint, as well as the upper-level members of the other two museums. They are offered approximately quarterly as curatorial and creative staffs at each museum draw common threads among the exhibitions on view. Tour experiences last approximately 2.5 hours as attendees visit each museum and conclude the experience with a light reception and mingling.
