DATE CHANGE: NOW SUNDAY OCTOBER 27
To celebrate the opening of Southern/Modern, hear a panel of local historians, new and longtime Charlotteans, and cultural leaders as they reflect on what was happening in the Queen City during the first half of the 20th century and how our past continues to inform our present.
This panel discussion will be moderated by Janeen Bryant of the Community Building Initiative and features panelists Barbara Locklear, an Indigenous historian and storyteller; Pamela Grundy, author of the book “Legacy: Three Centuries of Black History in Charlotte;” and artist Nellie Ashford, who grew up in Charlotte during part of the time covered by the exhibition.
