CHARLOTTE’S PUBLIC ART – NEW SCULPTURE
Want to learn more about Charlotte’s public art scene? Have questions about current or future projects? The Friends of the Mint have invited Carla Hanzal, Vice-President of Public Art at the Arts and Science Council to enlighten event their audience.
About the speaker: Carla M. Hanzal is Vice President of Public Art at the Arts and Science Council, where she oversees projects to incorporate projects into major Capital Improvement Projects for the City, County and Aviation. For ten years she served as the Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art at the Mint Museum in Charlotte, NC. Hanzal frequently lectures about Modern and contemporary art and serves as a juror for national and regional exhibitions. A recipient of a Fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts in the Policy, Planning and Research division, Hanzal also publishes articles about national arts policy and education. Hanzal is currently a trustee of the International Sculpture Center, the publisher of Sculpture magazine.
