Community Conversation – What’s Going On? Social Consciousness and Race in America

Wednesday, April 5, 6:30-8:30 pm | UPTOWN

In 1971, Singer-composer Marvin Gaye’s “What’s Going On?” brought to listeners a new movement of socially-conscious lyrics and identified numerous controversial historical events that would change the face of America.  Today, in 2017, the quandary remains, and many Americans are deeply grieved and troubled by what they see and hear.  Yet, there are solution-based concepts that can be shared to help answer the question via candid dialogue with a moderated panel of diverse community leaders representing diversity and inclusion, law enforcement, psychology, art expression, government and religion.
