Modern Dutch Design Lecture
December 13 @ 6:00 PM–7:00 PM
As part of our new Dutch Design Lecture Series, Silvia Barisione, Curator at The Wolfsonian – FIU, will be at Mint Museum Uptown to give a talk about Modern Dutch Design between the years 1890-1940. Drawing on works from the collections from both The Wolfsonian and The Mint Museum, her lecture will dive into the unique aesthetic of modern Dutch design and will discuss the influence of global cultures on Dutch design. She will also be drawing links from works by Studio Drift in our exhibition Immersed in Light: Studio Drift at the Mint.
Silvia Barisione is a leading expert in Modern European decorative arts and design. She was a major consultant to the Guggenheim’s Futurism exhibition and was consultant to Art Basel/Design Miami. She is also a well known DJ in Italy, France, and Miami, all while being easily recognized for her boho chic fashion sensibility.
This drop-in event is free with general admission. Please see the front desk to purchase a ticket into the Museum.
