The Art of Dining Public Tour
May 9, 2020 @ 2:00 PM–3:00 PM
Ever wonder why tea leaves were once kept in locked caddies? Or why a citrus on the table indicated wealth? Learn these answers and much more in a new 60-minute Art of Dining tour. This tour through the Portals to the Past: British Ceramics exhibition, the museum’s noted collection of late 17th through early 19th century ceramics, will highlight Georgian- and Regency-era seating etiquette, food preparation, and dining customs. Tour guides will ‘set the table’ for conversations about the design, production and use of selected pieces. Pre-registation required.
