When are you open?

Our hours are Tuesday through Sunday. Tuesday 11 AM – 6 PM, Wednesday 11 AM – 9 PM, Thursday 11 AM – 6 PM, Friday 11 AM – 9 PM, Saturday 11 AM – 6 PM, and Sunday 1 PM – 5 PM.

Do you have any free admission nights?

Every Wednesday night from 5 – 9 PM admission is free at both our locations.

Is re-entry allowed?

Admission is good for two consecutive days at both Mint Museum Randolph and Mint Museum Uptown locations. Feel free to re-enter throughout the same day with your receipt.

How long does it take to visit the museum?

On average, the Mint Museum Randolph or Mint Museum Uptown will take about 2-2 ½ hours to complete when special exhibitions are on display.

Are bookbags allowed?

Bookbags and large heavy bags are not allowed inside the galleries. We have lockers at each location where these items can be stored during your visit.

Do you have a coat check?

Yes, our coat check is open during winter months and during special occasions. If it is closed, you may ask to leave your items with guest services behind the desk.

Can I visit the museum store without admission?

Yes, you may visit either of our stores without admission.

Can I touch the art?

We want to share art with the community for many years to come. Therefore, touching of any works of art is prohibited.

Are photos allowed?

Yes, we encourage photography for personal use. No flash, selfie sticks, tripods, or photographing in restricted areas is allowed.

Can I sketch inside the galleries?

Feel free to bring pencil and paper to sketch within our permanent collection galleries. Pens, markers, water, charcoal, pastels, paints, and easels are not allowed in the galleries. Some special exhibitions may have different rules.

Do you accept art donations?

We do not accept unsolicited art donations.

Do you do appraisal /conservation of works of art?

Unfortunately, we do not offer those services.

Do you have restrooms?

Yes, restrooms are located on every floor for museum visitors.

Is there a nursing room?

Yes, at Mint Museum Uptown. Please ask a guest services associate for assistance.

Are food and drinks allowed?

Food and drink are not allowed in the galleries under any circumstances.

Is smoking allowed?

The Mint Museum is a smoke free institution.

Does the museum rent spaces?

Yes, Mint Museum Randolph and Uptown both rent spaces for personal and company functions. Please visit our special events page to learn more or call at 704.337.2108.

Where should I park?

Mint Museum Randolph offers a spacious parking lot directly in front of the building. Park for free!

Mint Museum Uptown offers $10 maximum validation to our visitors in the Levine Center for the Arts parking garage located on Brooklyn Village Avenue between Tryon and Church Streets. If using GPS, you can enter address 130 West Brooklyn Village Ave, Charlotte, NC 28202 to find the garage entrance. Click here for more details.

Do you have WiFi?

Yes, both museum locations have free WiFi. Ask guest services for the password.
