Craft + Design

About the collection
The Mint’s Craft + Design collection is internationally renowned as an outstanding collection of 20th and 21st century glass, fiber art, metal, studio jewelry, design, studio furniture, wood art, and clay works, including North Carolina pottery. The unique, mass produced, and editioned objects showcase moments of innovation and design excellence.
The craft and design world has seen significant changes since the Mint Museum of Craft + Design opened its doors in 1999. By focusing on local, national, and global themes, we explore how craft and design address identity, culture, technology, and the pressing issues of our time such as sustainability, social injustice, and climate change. Our commitment to excellence is reflected in our ongoing efforts to acquire masterworks, produce scholarly publications, and collaborate with contemporary makers and designers. Through these endeavors, The Mint Museum remains at the forefront of craft and design leadership.
