Free Mini Art Kit: Gold Coin

This month, design and create a golden coin inspired by a gold half eagle coin on view at Mint Museum Randolph.

Drop by the Mint Museum Randolph terrace Wednesday, April 6 through Saturday April 9 during museum hours to pick up a fun all-ages project to create at home. While supplies last. During poor weather and after dark, the art kit cart will be in the museum atrium.

Party in the Park 2022

Enjoy free admission to the museum, special programming, food trucks, live music, and a cash bar on the front terrace (weather permitting). Celebrate Women’s History Month with a self-guided tour of The World of Anna Sui and watch artists paint live on the lawn 2-4 PM.

Friends of the Mint presents Meredith Connelly

Friends of the Mint’s March program features a well-known local artist who is committed to expanding community and culture through the arts: Meredith Connelly. Connelly is a multidisciplinary artist who draws inspiration from nature, science and technology. Her illuminated installations such as the “I Heart Rail Trail” in SouthEnd and “Lights” at the U.S. National Whitewater Center that have fascinated viewers.

She was recently commissioned to create a permanent public work for Charlotte to debut in 2023. Connelly also creates two-dimensional cut paper works that are reflective of microcosms and biological forms. Connecting art and home, Connelly is the co-founder of Ash and Ochre which features small batch craft and wares. She is a graduate of the University of Wilmington with a degree in studio art and lives in the Lake Norman area with her husband and two girls.

Friends of the Mint presents Rachel Eng, McColl Center Winter Artist in Residence

Rachel Eng is a creator of ceramic artworks and installation art. She is inspired by the natural world, and the decay and regeneration inherent in environmental and landscape systems. Climate change, land use, and other impacts are considered and questioned in light of the shared experience of our surroundings. Eng currently works and lives in Carlisle, Penn. where she teaches in the studio art program at Dickinson College.
