Pilot shuttle program to run December 16-Janary 16

New FREE public shuttle service will make it easier than ever to visit both locations of the state’s first art museum this holiday season.

In a pilot program, the museum will offer the free shuttles to museum guests between Mint Museum Uptown and Mint Museum Randolph on Wednesdays and Saturdays beginning this week, Wednesday, December 16, and continuing through January 23. The shuttles will run from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesdays and noon-4 p.m. Saturdays, and will be for guests with valid general admission to the museum those days. Shuttles depart on the hour from Mint Museum RANDOLPH, and on the half-hour from Mint Museum UPTOWN. Wednesdays and Saturdays are typically the museum’s highest-traffic days of the week – both museum locations are open for FREE general admission each Wednesday from 5-9 p.m.

Additionally, the museum will be open for special holiday hours during the weeks of Christmas and New Year’s. Both locations will be open from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. on Tuesday, December 22 and Tuesday, December 29. The museums are closed on Thursday and Friday, December 24 and 25, and Thursday and Friday, December 31 and January 1, for the holidays, and then resume normal Wednesday-Sunday operating hours beginning January 2.

“We are always looking for ways to improve community access to our cultural treasures, and we hope that both the new shuttle service and our additional Tuesday hours will make it even easier for families to visit the Mint over the holiday weeks,” said Hillary Cooper, the museum’s Director of Advancement & Communications.
